In 2005, Leaf & Petal changed hands, but all the old traditions remained. A face-lift was given to the old building, a décor section added and the number of plant species was doubled. The following year, the Summit store was added in Vestavia Hills, which is only a few miles away. And, in September of 2007, the first Leaf & Petal gift boutique was open at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. The latter signaled a digression from former years, as Leaf & Petal expanded into other areas, including exterior and interior design work.
